Indian Hill Field Hockey Continues To Battle

INDIAN HILL – In the highly competitive Southwest Ohio Field Hockey League, Indian Hill High School was 2-5 last season. The Lady Braves finished ahead of Summit Country Day and Talawanda, but behind Mount Notre Dame, Ursuline, St. Ursula, Oakwood and Fairmont.

This year’s squad has just two seniors in Natalie More and Jane Petrie. Juniors are Layla Al-Zubi, Bailey Bathalter, Ava Bollinger and Robin Schumacher. Sophomores include Olivia Campbell, Blair Hassett, Paige Hassett, Georgia Kennedy, Shannon McCormick, Allyson McMillan, Paige McMullen and Jill Petrie and Molly Hayes is the lone freshman.

Coaching the Lady Braves is 1995 Indian Hill grad Tara Rose, assisted by 1993 grad Pamela Angel.

“We are a growing team picking up new players and introducing them to the sport every year,” Rose said. “We challenge ourselves at the varsity level, even if we may not quite be there ourselves. I have lots of girls really taking to the sport and most of their attitudes are positive and open to the challenges we will be experiencing.”

Indian Hill’s next two games are at home Sept. 3 against Summit Country Day and at Fairmont on Sept. 10.

“All I can hope is that we take something from every game to make us react faster and smarter the next time,” Rose said. “We are growing and hope to hold our ground more and more every game we play.”
