The IHHS girls varsity tennis team dropped a 3-0 decision to the now three-peat State Champion Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown today in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. The Braves then went on to defeat a tough Toledo Central Catholic squad 3-1 in the 3rd/4th place playoff match. Our team has been the state runner-up to Hathaway Brown in 2015 and 2016 and unfortunately, we had to play them this time in a semi-final match.

In spite of the draw, we had a really successful season going 15-4 during the regular season as Indian Hill maintained it's status as the #2 ranked tennis team in Ohio.

Five Braves tennis players advanced to at least the semi-finals of the Districts and qualified to compete at the OHSAA State Tennis Championships to be held 10/20 and 10/21 at the Western & Southern ATP Tennis Center. Gracey Hirsch and Hayley Hirsch tore through the competition to claim their second consecutive District Double Championship. Julia Yingling, Nina Price and Samantha Pregel all had impressive 3rd place finishes and will accompany the Hirsch sisters at State this weekend.

The Indian Hill girls varsity tennis team are currently ranked #2 in Ohio and improved their record to 13-4 this week with wins over Loveland and Taylor. Even more impressively, all 7 Braves players competing in this week's Sectional reached at least the semi-finals to advance to the District tournament to be held at the Western & Southern ATP Tennis Center on 10/12 and 10/14.

Julia Yingling and Nina Price showed their extensive varsity experience in reaching the Sectionals final round match and will aim to reach the District Championship finals next weekend. Yingling and Price have played varsity tennis since their very first day as freshman at IHHS. They are undoubtedly one of Southwestern Ohio's most formidable doubles tandems.
