Girls varsity tennis on a 9 match win streak

The Indian Hill girls varsity tennis team has now won 9 of their last 10 matches after victories over Lakota East and Oakwood this week.

Varsity has been successful despite the loss of players due to injuries and college visits during our first six weeks of matches.

Senior Julia Yingling will be back with the team tomorrow and we should be at almost full strength at that point.

The only remaining injured Brave unavailable to the team at this point is Saskia Gobonya.

Multiple wins were accumulated this week by singles players, Gracey Hirsch, Hayley Hirsch and Samantha Pregel, as well as the freshmen doubles tandem of Jessica August and Jessie Budde.

Our 1st doubles team of Madeline Major and Nina Price battled to the wire with the top 2 players at Lakota East and then recorded a good win over Oakwood.

Varsity's win over Oakwood puts the Braves in the semi-finals of the OTCA Division 2 District Team Tournament.

Junior Madeline Major has an 8-2 record on the season and has played most of her doubles matches with
Nina Price or Julia Yingling. We always counted on Madeline for her tennis talents and it was expected that she would be heavily relied upon this season.

Other key contributors have been Gracey Hirsch who is undefeated in Division 2 and Hayley Hirsch who is on a 9 match winning streak. The doubles team of Jessica August and Jessie Budde are a perfect 6-0 on the season.

Girls tennis plays home matches next week on 9/25, 9/27 and 9/28 against Mason, Finneytown and Ursuline.
In addition, our team will play an away match next Tuesday, 9/26 against Wyoming in an attempt to win our 21st consecutive CHL title.
