Braves Defeat Deer Park in Regular Season Finale. Clinch 2nd Place in CHL.

The Braves finished the regular season with a resounding 10-1 pounding of the Deer Park Wildcats on Friday (5/12) at Deer Park. Junior Joe Oakes started for the Braves and got the “W” going 4 innings and allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks and 1 run. Since April 5 Oakes has been “Mr. Steady” for the Braves throwing 34 innings and allowing just 9 earned runs for an outstanding ERA of just 1.85. Harry Kohr followed Oakes with 3 shutout innings for the victorious Braves.

Several offensive stars for the Braves included a 3 hit day for senior Keith Hammond and 2 rbi games for Winston Caine and Joe Oakes. The Braves end the regular CHL season tied for 2nd place with a 10-4 record. It is the highest finish for a Braves baseball team since 2007. The season continues on Thursday night (5/18) when Indian Hill faces New Richmond in Round 3 action of the state baseball tournament at Oak Hills High School.
