Boys Varsity Tennis Advances 6 Players To Districts & 3 To State

Indian Hill boys varsity tennis had a strong showing at the Cincinnati Sectional, advancing 6 to the District tournament. Junior Andrew Pregel won the singles tournament, while Junior Maanas Pisati took 3rd place. Seniors Milan Bhandari and Christiano Lima took 1st place in the doubles tournament, while Senior Mrinal Singh and Sophomore Mack Ellis took 3rd place. Senior Pablo Guzman also competed in singles, but hit a tough draw against the #1 seed from Cincinnati Country Day.

This past Thursday and Saturday, the players advancing played in the District tournament with 3 players qualifying for the State Tournament. Taking first place in the doubles again was Seniors Bhandari and Lima, who beat the #1 team from CCD in an exciting 3rd set tiebreaker. Pregel also qualified for State in Singles, placing 2nd in Districts losing to #1 Seven Hills and top area player Nick Williams in a hard fought 3 set match. Singh and Ellis also played in the District doubles tournament but did not qualify for State.

Next up this week, IH plays Cincinnati Country Day on Tuesday away at CCD in the finals for State Team qualification. Come out and cheer for your Braves as they seek a spot at the "Final 4" for Team State.

Individual State begins Friday at 9am at the Lindner ATP Center in Mason and continues on Saturday at 9am. If they beat CCD on Tuesday, Team State would be on Sunday in Reynoldsburg Ohio.
