Braves Grapplers Finish 2nd At CHL Championships, Eigher named Coach Of The Year

Your 2017 Wrestling Braves


The Braves made largele strides by finishing second in the CHL Championship on Saturday, February 18, 2017. They were slightly edged out of first place, but the event and results were large for our grapplers. The team efforts paid off in beating Madeira, Mariemont, Deer Park, Wyoming, and Taylor. Also, Indian Hill amassed its highest score in league history with 187.5 points.

The Braves produced 4 individual CHL champions and Nate Eigher was named Coach Of The Year. Jason Clark (132 lbs.), Will Steuerwald (160), John Mark Williams (170) and Justin Lewis (195) won titles. Second place finishers were Cooper Leszczuk (113), Brent Krebs (120), Patrick Farist (138), Jack Steuerwald (152), and Charlie Lindberg (182). Spencer Mangialardo (106), Jaden Anderson (126) and Matthew Breidis (285) placed third at their weight classes.

The Braves travel to Batavia High School for the Sectional Wrestling Tournament on February 25 and 26, 2017. The tournament will consist of teams from Archbishop McNicholas, Badin, Batavia, Goshen, Hughes Center, Mariemont, Mt. Healthy, New Richmond, Norwood, Reading, Ross, Taylor, Western Brown, and Wyoming.
